Hey everyone! yeah.... yeah... yeah... after a very long time. Sorry for the delay. I had been busy with my semester exams. Now, lets jump into the topic,
Spaghettification! let me guess what you might be thinking, "what's a food doing in a science blog?" right?. well for all the foodies out there, this is a bad news. we're not gonna talk about food. spaghetti is a food but spaghettification doesn't relate to food at all!
As everyone knows, when someone gets killed by another, it is called a murder. when anyone kill themselves, it is a suicide. If dead by electric shock, it is called electrocution. Spaghettification is NOT death by eating a poisoned spaghetti. When you die eating a poisoned spaghetti, it is called food poisoning. well then "what the hell is spaghettification?" right? Let me define it first and explain later,
"Spaghettification is death by getting stretched and ripped apart by gravitational forces on falling into a black hole"
Yeah! I know that's totally crazy but there is actually a word for it!!
So, "why is it so special?" let me answer,
You might be reading this article either sitting down or standing up. "unless you are upside down, I can surely say that the gravitational force acting on your feet is greater than the gravitational force acting on your head" But earth's gravitational force is negligible when compared to a black hole. That's why you don't feel the difference.
The Gravitational for of a black hole is so high that not even light can escape from it. So when you enter the event horizon, (boundary point from where nothing returns back) as gravitational force is so high that, "the difference between the gravitational force acting on your feet and gravitational force acting on your head is so high that, your feet starts getting stretched like a spaghetti and eventually you'll get ripped apart. That's why it's called "SPAGHETTIFICATION"
The most interesting part is that, to the whole universe you will die in a billionth of a second but you see the whole timeline of the universe which is visible to you in slow motion!!! right in front of your eyes!
That's the deadly feast for this day. As usual, this is ANIRUDH
DASARI signing off for today.
