When I titled the post "Elon Musk- The outta the world guy" I literally meant it. Yeah! This guy is revolutionising the industries on Earth one after the other.
Elon Reeve Musk was born in Pretoria, Transvaal, South Africa on June 28 1971. His parents, Errol Musk(Father) was an engineer and Maye Musk (Mother) was a model. He is the youngest of his siblings. During his childhood, he was not socially that active and loved to read books.
At the age of 12, he programmed his own game named, "The Blaster" and sold it for $500. And later in the year 1989, he moved from South Africa to Canada and graduated at the "University of Pennsylvania". After his graduation, he moved to California and started his graduation on Physics in the "Stanford University" his main interest was on Space exploration. But at the same time....The world was undergoing a revolutionary shift. That was the "INTERNET BOOM". And he wanted to make something out of it. Now this will surprise you!! Just after two days, he left the Stanford University and started his own company named "ZIP2".
ZIP2 was an online newspaper Company. Later on he sold his ZIP2 for $307Million!!! To a company called COMPAQ. And Elon made $22Million out of it. But, he was not satisfied.....
Later on 1999 he built an online payment website called " X.com " which eventually became PayPal. Now this was revolutionary. It revolutionised the way financial transactions took place. Before this, people used to send cheques through posts.. and it usually took days. This was bought by eBay for $1.5 Billion out of which $180 Million was given to Musk.
In the next three years, I.e, the year 2002, he started a Space exploration company named Space X.
When he started the company, nobody had trust in this "Private Rocket Company". So, Elon had to put all his money himself. And, he only had a successful launch after three failures. And in an interview, When he was asked "Why didn't you give up?" He said "I will never give up.. I mean I have to be dead or something.
And also after the 4th launch was a success, The next morning NASA called for a contract.. the next morning!!
Now Space X is in a good collaboration with NASA and it reduced the cost for a launch Drastically and with no wastage too!!
Meanwhile in 2004, he invested a huge amount in the electric car company called "TESLA" and became the chairman of the company. After becoming the chairman of Tesla he designed a car named "Tesla Model S" of which the design was so perfect that it was given 5.4/5 by the National Traffic Safety Authority. This model could go to 300 km in one full charge!! And here's an interesting fact Elon Musk only takes $1 as his salary from Tesla!!
And on 4th July 2006, The solar City was announced. Which does the installation of solar to your homes and conserves the non-renewable resources.
In the year 2013, he announced about his new company "The Hyperloop" which will be the revolution in the transport system. There are presently four Transport systems on the Earth(namely, Roadways, Railways,Water ways and the Air ways).
If this Hyperloop ends up succesful, It'll be the fifth mode of transportation. And it could take you 1000 km just in an hour!!! i guess your are pretty surprised. I am not telling you anything more about the hyperloop!!! Because It deserves another article. I will definitely give a detailed explanation in that article.
And in the year 2015 "Tesla Power Wall" was announced. Which installs a battery that stores the electricity that you generate from your solar panels (Solar City). It looks like this,
Also on December 2015, He also found "Open AI" Which is a "Non Profit AI Research Organisation". Whose motivation is to develop the Artificial Intelligence and make it beneficial to the world. And before reading this article, if you don''t know Elon Musk, Chances are you might have seen his influence. Yeah Saw the movie IRON MAN? that character was influenced by Elon Musk, Half of the IRON MAN 2 was short inside SPACE X. Elon musk even made a Cameo in the film!!!
Coming to the conclusions, What's so special about Elon Musk?
He was just an ordinary guy. And now He is literally "Changing the World!!!" First thig we have to learn from him is #HardWork. Hard work never goes waste. And failures? "If you are not failing, then you are not innovating enough". No matter how many times you fail, You should never give up.
