Earth, the planet at a distance 149.6 million kilometres from the sun. And the mass of the earth is 5.927×10²⁴ kilograms. And the only planet supporting life in the solar system.
We all know that all the planets revolve around the sun and rotate around themselves. This rotation we call spinning of Earth. Coming to the Earth's perspective, it revolves at a speed (1rev/year) and rotates at a speed (1rot/day(24h56m4s).
And "what if earth stops spinning?" ... Well earth spins from West to East at a speed of "1673 KMPH".... Now, that's too fast!!!
Suppose you are travelling in a bus or a car now when you stop the bus or car you will be pushed forward due to inertia(Newton's first law)
Now coming to the Earth's perspective, it is spinning with a huge velocity... If it suddenly stops? ... The results will be catastrophic!... Every object on the earth will move in the direction of spin of Earth but the earth is static... All the buildings will be shattered oceans will be coming into continents.. the planet will be filled with dust. We can name it "The earth: Apocalypse".
And people flying in Planes or helicopters etc... This has no effect on them.

What will happen if sun suddenly disappeared
The only reason why earth and the other Planets are revolving is sun's gravity... If it dissapeard then there would be no gravity so the planets would fly away...
